VPN

WireGuard tunnels that exit from Hep.gg addresses, with per-device configs generated in your browser.

VPN

The Hep.gg VPN gives you a WireGuard tunnel that exits from a Hep.gg address. Add a device in the dashboard, scan the QR code or download the config, and you are connected. There is nothing to install on our side and no account to create with a third party.

How it works

  • Exits: your traffic leaves the internet from a Hep.gg IP. Everyone can use the Montreal exit. Additional exits, such as Fort Erie, are for Prime accounts and are enabled per account by the team. Prime alone does not switch them on; ask if you need one.
  • Your keys stay yours: the WireGuard private key is generated in your browser when you add a device. It is never sent to Hep.gg and it is shown exactly once, so save the config right away. If you lose it, rotate the device and you get a fresh one.
  • One config per device: phone, laptop, router, each gets its own entry so you can revoke one without touching the others.

When a free account reaches its monthly allowance the devices stop connecting until the 1st, and you get a notification. Nothing is deleted. Prime removes the cap.

What we log

We keep per-device byte counters and the mapping from each device to your account, with timestamps. We do not log the sites you visit or the content of your traffic. Outbound mail on port 25 is blocked from the exits, and devices cannot reach each other or the exit's private network.
