Analytics
Profile views, visitors, clicks on every link, click rate, where visitors come from, CSV export, and 180 days of detailed history.
Every profile has built-in analytics. Open a profile in the dashboard and switch the top bar from Edit to Analytics. There is nothing to install: every page counts its own views and the clicks on everything a visitor can tap.
What is counted
- Views: every time the page is opened and shown on screen.
- Visitors: distinct people per day. Someone who comes back on another day counts again.
- Clicks: taps on your links, buttons, social icons, the Save contact button, the share button, the QR code, and successful contact form sends.
- Click rate: clicks divided by views for the selected range.
Everything is counted by default, including your own visits and repeat loads, so the numbers match the traffic your page really gets. Switch on Exclude bots to leave out automated visits such as link previews and crawlers.
The analytics view
- Range: the last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or 12 months. Each total shows its change against the previous period of the same length.
- Views per day: a daily chart of views, visitors, and clicks.
- Where visitors come from: the sites that sent visitors, grouped by host (expand one to see the exact pages), and channels such as Direct, Social, Messaging, Search, Email, QR code, and Physical card.
- Link clicks: every link and button on your page with where it goes and how many clicks it got. The same counts appear next to each item in the editor.
- Export CSV: downloads the daily series, per-link clicks, and sources for the selected range.
Tagging your own links
Add ?src= to your address when you share it, and visits through that link show up as their own source. For example, https://yourname.hep.gg/?src=newsletter appears as newsletter. The tag is removed from the address bar once the page loads, so visitors who copy the link do not carry it on. The QR code from the Share dialog already uses ?src=qr.
How long data is kept
Detailed data (sources and per-link clicks) covers the last 180 days. Daily totals of views, visitors, and clicks are kept for as long as the profile exists, so long-range charts keep working after the detail ages out.
Privacy
Visitors are counted with an anonymous identifier that changes every day, so no visitor can be followed from one day to the next and no IP address is shown to you. Analytics do not set cookies on your page.
Under the hood
The page reports views and clicks to Hep.gg with a small beacon that never delays a visitor's navigation. Its request format is documented on Public endpoints.
