Direct Access

A private folder on the Hep.gg file server over FTP, FTPS, SFTP and the web, sharing your storage pool.

Direct Access

Direct Access is your own private folder on the Hep.gg file server. It sits next to your S3 buckets in the Files app and shares the same main storage pool, so it is available on Prime, with purchased storage, or with a storage grant from the team.

Getting your folder

  1. Open Files in the dashboard and choose Direct Access.
  2. If your account qualifies, your folder and login are created on the spot. If not, the page tells you what is missing.
  3. Reveal your password with Show password. You can reveal it as often as you like, and rotate it at any time.

The username and password only work for file access. They cannot sign in to anything else.

Once connected you land in your own folder. Anything you upload there counts against your storage pool.

Quota

Your folder shares one pool with your S3 buckets. The cap shown on the Direct Access page is your total pool minus what S3 is already using, and it updates as either side changes. When the pool is full, new uploads are refused and existing files stay put. Nothing is ever deleted for you. Free up space or top up from the Top Up page to keep uploading.

Shared folders

The team can grant your account access to additional folders. When that happens they appear alongside your home folder in your FTP client and in the web file manager, and their contents count against your pool the same way.
